This is an outtake from the Ghost Notes album shoot - me smiling. when i was about 7, i had a horrible dentist - it was when my mom was a single mom, so i’m sure she did her best. i don’t know what was wrong with my teeth but they were jacked - i was 2 mos and 2 weeks premature i wonder if that had anything to do with it. they pulled a lot (i found out in later years too many) teeth. anyway, this (jerk of a dentist) was saying i had an ugly smile and it looked like a horse and giggled and brought his assistant in to come look… he was like “see??!!” clearly i got better dental work later and had a braces appliance – but my entire life THAT INCIDENT has made me shy to smile in photos. Now i smile because I want to show what’s inside–and even if i had an “ugly” smile that is what i was born with - and beauty shines from the inside!!!  smiles are contagious!! It’s amazing what adults can say to kids and not even how it can affect them forever. Or maybe that guy was just a mean person and didn’t care. If anyone told ANY of you anything like this when you were little, let’s burn that shit and realize that it’s the person who said these things not us!

  7. damianrules said: I relate to this. I had terrible teeth due to genetics and a terrible dentist. They either broke apart because of incomplete dental work, or all the baby teeth didn’t fall out. It’s all fixed now but I still find it to weird to smile.
